Electrology

A Medical Aesthetician program is a combined training program that includes Laser Electrology and Skin Care education. This program prepares students to perform advanced aesthetic services such as laser hair removal and professional skin care treatments within the scope of Florida law.

Florida does not issue a single license titled Medical Aesthetician. Graduates of this program earn eligibility for two separate licenses, Laser Electrologist through the Florida Department of Health and Facial Specialist through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

The total number of hours is the combined required hours for both programs. This includes 320 hours for Laser Electrology and 260 hours for Skin Care, for a total of 580 clock hours.

Yes. Our combined Medical Aesthetician program meets all Florida Department of Health and DBPR requirements for both Laser Electrology and Facial Specialist licensure.
Graduates must pass the Florida Laser and Light-Based Hair Removal examination for Laser Electrology licensure. No exam is required for the Facial Specialist license once the required hours are completed.
The program includes theory and hands-on training in laser physics and safety, laser hair removal, skin analysis, facials, hair removal techniques, sanitation and infection control, client consultation, treatment protocols, and Florida laws and rules.
Program length depends on the schedule selected. Many students complete the program within 4 to 7 months with consistent attendance.
